M-Plex Mustangs and Greater Boston Lions bring home hardware

With the final Summer AAU tournaments coming to a close we are happy to say that there are a few new Bay State teams to add to the list of Champions.

#3 Greater Boston Lions-HOF Junior National Invitational Champs

The Greater Boston Lions, GBL, 8th Grade Boys (#3 in Mass) took home the HOF Junior National Invitational Championship. The Lions defeated Mass Premier, East Coast Elite, Evolution, and Team Nation before meeting up with the Riverside Hawks in the Championship game. In the final game the GBL used different defensive schemes to throw off the Hawks. When the final buzzer sounded the Lions walked away the a 64-31 convincing victory.

The M-Plex Mustangs had a rough start to the D3 AAU National Tournament. They went 0-3 in pool play and were placed in the Classic Bracket. The Mustangs, however, turned it around once they began bracket play. The team went 4-0 defeating the Virginia Bearcats, South Carolina Stars, Team Loaded(VA), and South River Shooters(MD) before facing the Diamond State Diamonds(DE) in the Championship. The Mustangs came out victorious against the Titans by a score of 70-64.
