2014 Spalding Hoophall Classic Released

The 2014 Spalding Hoophall Classic schedule has just been released. The event will showcase some of the nations top High School basketball players. Springfield College will host the event from January 16th-20th.

Some of the programs that are scheduled to participate in the event include: Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, NH), Fidlay Prep (Henderson, NV), Huntington Prep (Huntington, WV), Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, CA), Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL), Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA), Prime Prep Academy (Dallas, TX), St. Anthony High School (Jersey City, NJ), St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ), and Wilbraham and Monson Academy (Wilbraham, MA).

There are also numerous local teams that will compete in at this event. On the girls side, the defending D1 State champs Braintree will play Christ the King (New York, NY), while the defending D3 State champs Archbishop Williams go against Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, CA). Both of these games will take place Friday evening (January 17, 2014).

The most intriguing match-up for local fans will take place Thursday night (January 16, 2014), when Springfield Putnam will square off against Springfield Central. Not only are the schools city rivals, but they are also the last 2 schools to win the D1 state championships (Central in 2012 and Putnam in 2013).
